About Medico Manufacturing

Our History

Medico Industries Inc., originated as the Medico Electric Motor Company in a mule barn located in Port Blanchard, Pennsylvania in 1937 by five founding brothers. Five brothers - William, Philip, Angelo, Samuel and Charles - Medico built their company through hard work and a philosophy that still drives the business today.

"The Customer is the Boss"

Over the next 20 years, the founding brothers of the Medico Electric Company continued to enlarge and expand their machine shops, warehouse space and manufacturing capabilities. Opportunity and the foresight of these five brothers led them to improve their facility by adding machine tools, which was the beginning of what is now known as Medico Industries, Inc. After 28 successful years, the company outgrew its existing facility and further expansion was in order. In 1965, the company purchased 85 acres of land and erected a new, modern steel building consisting of 127,000 square feet of floor space. The new facility houses our manufacturing capabilities, consisting of machining, cold extrusion and hot forge press work, heat treating, welding, fabricating, phosphatizing, and painting.

Our location affords us easy access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate Routes 80 and 81. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, which is designated a Foreign Trade Zone, is six miles from our plant.
